Ani Difranco's "Soft Shoulder" on To The Teeth... Someone has tried to tell me that at least some of the guitar textures on this song are Prince playing. Some of the tones are close to Prince's typical sound, but slightly off. A few of the guitar phrasings are close to Prince's timing, but don't feel quite right to have been Prince to my ear. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Listen2Prince !!

The real question is do we have a reliable source from either Ani or P's camp addressing the topic? People's "ears" are unfortunately not something we can truly work with. But let's hear what people think, sure. I'm still wondering what P's hinted piano contribution to Macy's The ID could be., if it's there at all.
