Jody Watley is not really part of the Freestyle scene but I think this song has many Freestyle elements and it was definitely a club banger. I adored Jody when I was a teenager. I still do . Such a classy woman.

I didn´t know her before I saw her mentioned on this thread and now I´m discovering more and more great songs by her on Youtube. And I want to buy her greatest hits album. All because of your thread. wink

All this Freestyle music has been cheering me up big time in the last couple of days.

I prefer her more wellknown song Summertime but I really like this one as well.

Back then I used to think she was Puerto Rican but years later I read somewhere that she was actually born in Sicily.

Seduction "You're My One And Only (True Love)

One of my favorite songs. There is an interesting story behind it.The lead vocals are actually sung by Martha Wash (who was never a member of the group) eek The producers asked her to sing on it and she did, thinking it was just a demo that someone else would sing later. But they kept her vocals, but altered her voice so that you can’t really tell that it’s her.She later sued them and won.

Wow, I absolutely love that song.....hadn´t heard it before.

Your link above wouldn´t open here so I had to look for an alternative link.

It´s fascinating how this genre could lead to so many good and memorable songs even though they kept using the same musical elements over and over again. I mean, it is a bit like having to make a hamburger or pizza and four or five chefs have the same ingredients in the kitchen, and yet they all come up with different tasting burgers in the end. lol

Seduction had a great string of singles from their album, Nothing Matters Without Love, "Two To Make It Right" being the most popular. Their cover of "Heartbeat", "Breakdown", "One Mistake", and even the b-side house track "Groove Me" are all worth hearing.
