The recording of Invincible was slow down because MJ had a chronical laryngitis...so he said.
Frankly, it s a bad excuse, because he could have recorded Fall Again another day, instead of, let say, Don t walk away.

MJ was obv dealing with a lot during that time. He seemed very unfocused and unsure of himself.

He focused mainly on the raising of his children, so he clearly lost interest in making music.
He also had to deal with pain in his back since his fall in 1999 at a concert during Earth Song.
.
He also had resentment towards Sony since they didn't want to pay 2 millions dollars for the SMILE music video. According to the Black and White Magazine special issue in 2009, it was the start of the feud between MJ and Sony, since MJ really wanted this project to be released.
.
Since then, he was reluctant to work for Sony

He said shortly after HIStory that he wasn't sure he would to another album. Then again, he told us in March of '98 that the new album would be released in the summer. Then it was released 3 years later, so I guess his heart wasn't really in it.

I was shocked he gave up such good songs such as Streetwalker in 2001 for special editions, compared to the lack of magic in most of Invincible tracks.
.
He re recorded Cheater produced by Jerkins for invincible, too bad it didn't make the cut.
.
Too many great tracks he gave up for compilations and Special editions during his lifetime : Sunset Driver, Got the Hots, Carousel, We be had enough, Monkey Business, Scared of the moon...
.
Too many ones released officially after his death too.
He should have made them onto Invincible and another album, or two ! in the 2000's.
.
It s sad he spit like that on his own vault. I wish he would have understood how much some of his material were great, and have better potential artistically and commercially than You are My life, Cry, Privacy or One more Chance !
.
I love his demos, they sound in the same time finished, experimental and so unique musically. He would be more respected musically if he had released some of his home demos.
.
He used many producers, but his home demos were already great, he didn't need producers at all.

I agree that his demos were the best and worthy of an all new album. Also agree that they were stronger than invincible

Album's got my vote for the best MJ album. It's got my favorite "Keep The Faith" on it.

One word: Dangerous.

Better than any MJ album before it, and better than any MJ album since.

(for my money). Could not believe how good it was when I first heard it. A few of the Teddy Riley tracks have aged a bit more than others to my ears, and I remember the lyrics in the CD booklet being different to what I heard, but otherwise the album is near-perfect. I would have preferred a less mechanical and more organic and fuller analogue-sounding album (like albums prior to Bad), but otherwise I regard this as his finest work.

To be honest, none of these songs do much for me. They all scream "Outtake" and "Leftover". They certainly wouldn't have helped Invincible. The disappointing thing about it, is it's not exciting or daring. It's playing it safe. Even Shout was removed. It's not a bad album, but really, I just wished he would have followed the path of HIStory and BOTDF. That was the direction it should have went.

To each one his tastes.
But my point was that if they were reworked for Invincible, they had better potential from the start than much of the songs from it.
.
A Sunset Driver produced by Jerkins for instance would have been more interesting than Privacy.
.
Got the Hots reworked by Jerkins could have been a pure MJ uptempo hit too.
Scared of the Moon would have been more interesting than You are my life.

Jackson recorded 60 to 70 songs for Dangerous.[8][14] Omitted tracks include "Lisa, It's Your Birthday", "Monkey Business", "She Got It", "Work That Body", "Man in Black", "Serious Effect" (featuring rapper LL Cool J), and "If You Don't Love Me". Some were released later, including the ballad "For All Time", released on Thriller 25; "Slave to the Rhythm", remastered and released for the 2014 compilation album Xscape; the environmental anthem "What About Us", finished as "Earth Song" for HIStory; "Superfly Sister" and "Blood on the Dance Floor", both released on the remix compilation Blood on the Dance Floor:...in the Mix; and "Joy", released on Blackstreet's 1994 debut album.[18][19] None of the material worked on at Ocean Way Studios was included the album.

The creator of Michael Jackson dangerous album cover was the artist Mark Ryden. It took him six months to finish Michael Jackson dangerous artwork. Much of the life of Michael Jackson is reflected in it both in pictures as symbols. Mark Ryden was born on 20 January 1963 in Medford, Oregon, California. In 1987 he received the School of Design in Pasadena. Among his clients were Stephen King, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro. Michael Jackson hired Mark Ryden because he was a fan of circus posters from the early last century, and had the mentality to interpret the images they wanted Jackson on the cover. Account cartoonist asked Michael very specific things, and he also drew own analogies to make room for these symbols. Michael told Mark that the design should be mysterious, and that people will interpret in their own way.

The greatest show he never did. I wish he could’ve focused and bought that shoe together, it would’ve gave him what he needed. A stripped down MJ show would’ve been amazing.

JOY should've made the Dangerous album. Anybody know the status of that one? Does Teddy have the song in his posession? This is long over-due to be released.
