Old School Joint of the day: ROY AYERS Cant get enough of that dude. Pretty much everthing he did on Polydor between 1970 and 1979 was funky as hell.
-Yellow Ribbons -Change up the Groove -He's a superstar -Red Black n Green -Evolution -2000 Black -Everybody Loves the Sunshine -Running Away -A tear to a smile -Mystic Voyage -Love will bring us back together Just to name a few of my favorites. I also dig the stuff he did in the 60s on Atlantic (he even played on Herbie Mann's "Memphis Underground"), but the stuff he did in the 70s with Edwin Birdsong (the husband of one of the Supremes) just rocks for ages. If you have the change to find the extremely rare album by his side project RAMP from 1977 go ahead and buy it. It includes a killer version of "Everybody loves the sunshine" and the song "Daylight"... check www.royayers.com for more info... "Peace and Benz -- The future, made in Germany"

You missed some excellent cuts like: You Send Me Life Is Just Moment The Third Eye I Want To Touch You Baby Can't You See Me? Take All The Time You Need & Sweet Tears I agree with you on Roy, he's one of the most under-rated soul/jazz artists out there. ______________________________________

Now,that´s my favourite Roy Ayers, along with Don´t stop the feeling & Everybody loves the sunshine.I remember 1 unforgettable really hot summernight in '94 when he guested a really really small club in stockholm. It was a hotellobby. He opened up with "Searching" ,then played all his hits.He was really really cool. He did a special version "We live in Stockholm, baby". /peace Manki

When he and Rachelle Ferell toured here in Chicago a few years back, he did "We Live In Chicago, Baby". He was amazing live.

Have U heard that 1? It´s a great old-school early 80's jam.Kinda early garage/house like but very funky. It´s featured on the 1983 album Lot´s of love /peace Manki

That song kills me everytime Yeah, the simplicity of his lyrics is overwhelming: "Just peace... and things... and flowers..." "Peace and Benz -- The future, made in Germany"
