Also, you might want to check out some of the retrowave, synthwave and chillwave playlists(and artists) on YouTube. A lot of those artist do a really good job of capturing that 80's synth sound. Actually those are about the only genres of music that i think do just as good of a job(and sometimes even better) of recreating a particular sound of the past. Some of those artists tightened up, and expanded on the synth music of the past.
