He's a great guy. I don't understand why Maroon 5 is getting so much flak over playing the Superbowl.

Because it's in Atlanta and of all the musical talent that particular city is known for, we get Maroon 5 instead. Not necessarily because they're not from Atlanta but because of how that city is viewed as a haven for minorities and with all the racially-charged tension within the NFL, you'd think they would try to offset that somewhat by "choosing" a (black) artist/group associated with the city since it is hosting their biggest game of the season.

"The SuperBowl will be an Atlanta?? Whose gonna perform the Halftime Show?? Usher? T.I.? Ludacris? Childish Gambino? Janelle Monae? Outkast?"

"Nope! Maroon 5! Isn't that great??"

"shrug"

They're lame already but are even more lame as the performers of a SuperBowl Halftime Show in Atlanta. Also, Adam Levine sucks. Him covering a Prince song doesn't change that for me.

Now they're throwing Travis Scott into the mix.

Maroon 5 are one of my favourite bands. I have all their albums and Adam Levine is just my type lick

Ottensen

He can have a solo career and still be in Maroon 5. Case & point: MAROON 5 keyboardist (and Grammy-nominated artist) PJ MORTON:

CynicKill

I think Maroon 5 is the smartest band in show business.

Early on they discovered that Adam Levine is the face of the group, so they put him out there to do all these high profile things with the understanding that jealousies wouldn't get in the way and the band would never break up.

I gaurantee you Levine will never have a career as big as Maroon 5. I bet he's not even the lone songwriter which is also smart. It takes away the power dymanic from the central figure.

Though they might not be you're cup of tea their songs strike a nice balance of diversity, sing along-ness, soulfulness and sex appeal (from Levine).

They're so professional that I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon.

It’s incredible that they are still “a thing” but goat bleats are the hip sound nowadays.
