Good idea financially, it will coincide with the release of Mamma Mia 2 in which she has a small part.

Too much autotune on Gimme Gimme Gimme. She has a powerful voice and it wasn't necessary. It ruins a great song.

This is going to be such a fun record. There is a clip of her from Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again singing "Fernando". I was surprised how much I enjoyed her voice on that song. "Gimme Gimme Gimme" sounds just as good. I think it is going to be a fun album and a nice tie-in with the movie. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I have been a huge fan of Cher's for 45 years, but I have to say that I'm not down with this. I will be avoiding it like the plague. Anything with autotune sucks and Cher uses it way too much. She is so much better than this.

I'm thinking this reminds me of a Madonna song but I can't remember which one so I go to the YouTube and there it is - a mash-up of Gimme!Gimme!Gimme! and Madonna's Hung Up.

Cher doesn't need autotune, but Mark Taylor who produced "Believe" also produced this. I guess I just got used to that vocal effect, doesn't really bother me.
She did respond to some guy on Twitter who made a remark about the vocoder thing, and she told him to listen to the whole album. Apparenetly there are songs where her voice isn't altered like that.

Dare I say it was almost shocking to hear this because the lyrics aren't childish and repetitive like a lot of the new pop music, Cher has done some heavy tunes in the past but the lyrics to this song are lovely with a kind of storytelling quality to them. I actually almost liked it but I was never a fan of the original or Abba in general, super cheesy IMHO so I am expecting something remarkably cheeky/campy on this album but it really could work as a whole. Madonna's tune sampled the original and I imagine the mashup was "fabulous" as it should be and that Cher may entertain a similar mashup if she takes this album on the road.
. Also, the photo is hilarious. [Edited 8/10/18 16:26pm] if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

LOL Lot's of teen girls wanted to be like Cher, just like Madonna later on... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Lil Jon is responsible for that, not Cher!

She was lip syncing on Ellen which was rare but more disappointing. Still excited about the album. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Love her version of "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)". Immediately downloaded it and synced it to my music player after one listen from her Instagram.

I snagged it last night NY time because it was already out in Australia. I really love it. It's just good fun, no pretense, not artsy-fartsy interpretations. Every song is a bop and it's a great party record. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
