Yeah I was definitely thrown when I saw this. Is it an official release with credits and liner notes? Something looks fishy about it. I felt it odd it was coming out over there. P-Vine definitely put out its share of (P)roduct thru the 90's. I was hoping someone here could shed some light on this.

Isn't it true that sometimes official albums come out in Japan (sometimes with bonus tracks not on other releases) before they are done in other countries? Not sure. This could be a bootleg factory pressed in Japan. [Edited 8/17/18 15:16pm] "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

SoulAlive said: "Oil Jones" has been my summer jam Man a lot of these tracks have grown on me as with all PF stuff one has to give it a minute to get it. What I truly believe though is that he has saved some of the funkier stuff for this PFAS album he says is coming. I know I heard some stuff on those periscopes that is not on here. And I've been in contact with some folks who say they worked on tracks like one nation under sedation. I just hope we don't have to wait another several years to get it. I'm bumping MFD hard though. Wanted to get over to Lexington tomorrow and see them but it is SOLD OUT. In all my years of funking this is the first time I cannot even get a ticket!

what is the PFAS album? P-Funk All Stars "One Nation Under Sedation" he says is coming at the new year. Essentially MFD part 2. He had so many tracks he has to put it out in two parts.

interesting....
Now that George is retiring,I'd like to see him put together some "from-the-vaults" P-Funk releases. Not so long ago,he mentioned the many, many live recordings that he has...said he'd like to compile the ultimate P-Funk live box set.

George Clinton Plotting N...ion' Album
George Clinton plotting new 'One Nation Under Sedation' album
After 38 years of studio silence, George Clinton's Parliament released the double album Medicaid Fraud Dogg back in May. Less than four years earlier, he re-activated the other half of his funk empire from a similar three-decade slumber with Funkadelic's triple-album First Ya Gotta Shake the Gate. And while Clinton is retiring from the road at the close of Parliament-Funkadelic's current tour, which is set to conclude in May 2019, he says his studio hot streak is continuing. In fact, he's got yet another record entitled One Nation Under Sedation (a clear reference to Funkadelic's 1978 album One Nation Under a Groove) on the way. "This has been coming a long time. Anyone who has been to the shows over the past couple of years has noticed that I’ve been out front less and less,” he said at the time. Luckily, Clinton says making the Medicaid album rejuvenated his love of the studio. "That’s been the project that’s got me enthused about the whole business and making records again," he told the SF Chronicle. "I’ve got this album and another one coming. Being able to complete both of those projects got my adrenaline back up to keep going on with what’s going on out here and do it my way." There's no word yet on the subject of the next record, or which incarnation of his bands will play on it. If his latest work is any indication, he's not shying away from politics. "After getting off drugs myself, I can see how clearly the industry and the government work. They’ve taken over all the patients that were on the street and made the whole public into willing participants of drugs," he said of his inspiration for the record. "Part 2 is called One Nation Under Sedation, because I couldn’t fit it all on one album. That’s what they’ve gotten with all the different drug things in the politics. Insurance companies got a scam going on with victims and addictions and shit. They’ve got it hidden under the title of 'meds,' but it’s the same thing drug dealers (have). When they say 'controlled substance,' they really mean control. It’s a big racket. When you clean up and you’re 70-something years old, you think, 'Damn, everybody looks the way I was when I was doing it.' But they’re getting meds."

Yeah man that Family Series stuff got me thru the early 90’s. Any time you suggest putting more of that kind of stuff together he just seems to brush it off. I kno for a fact he’s sitting on an unedited versions of both the Oakland and LA 77 gigs that were culled for the Parliament Live album. I don’t know if the Brainfeeder stuff is still a possibility either.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I've also read about an album called Throbbasonic Attack. Apparently it became One Nation.

If memory serves correct I recall reading somewhere the single One Nation was not the first thing they cut for that LP. I think the concept started to crystallize around it though.

last year,George said that there will be vinyl reissues of the Warner Bros. Funkadelic albums One Nation Under A Groove and The Electric Spanking Of War Babies....so I assume that he's got some stuff planned.

Damn, George and P-Funk will be at the Sausalito Music Fest this weekend and I can't go... Of course, they will play for about an hour...not like the three and a half hour marathon I went to in a hot sweaty small club last year... Can't top that one! From my understanding vinyl has made quite the comeback and outsold all other formats last year including digital. Some of these kids out here are gobbling it up. In his case I just think he worked on it for 4 years and yet it still wasn’t all the way together but he said funk it and dropped it out on the net. A case of how late does it have to be and it’s still absent. I’m now not so sure he’s got any plans of officially releasing it on a physical copy. I ain’t never known him to put out a whole album with no liner credits.

This song is from the original Electric Spanking. I dig it more than Electro-Cuties, which I believe took its place when the album got trimmed. I'm not really a big fan of Electric Spanking either, tbh, but I love the cuts w/ Sly
