The master keyboardist apparently succumbed this morning from complications associated with heart surgery. Man this cat was badd and never got his due. I saw him sit in with the Bernie Worrell Orchestra a few years back and it was heavenly, not to mention those heavy Bootsy grooves he would get into while touring with P-Funk in the early 2000’s. Talking to him was a pleasure. I never took him up on his invite to come by the house and talk about the old funk albums and for that I am forever regretful.
Lately he was a member of Freekbass’ Bump Assembly.
