From the original ¼” tapes, 180g vinyl reissues of all their albums, are scheduled to be released from 17 August 2018. The first batch includes the LPs Juju (1981), Tinderbox (1986), Through the Looking Glass (1987), and Join Hands (1979).

Each album has been remastered from the original ¼” tapes and cut at half-speed at Abbey Road Studio by Miles Showell. Both artwork and audio have personally been overseen and orchestrated by Siouxsie and Steven Severin

Juju (1981) is the seminal album that they recorded with John McGeoch, one of the most gifted guitarists of all time. His playing on Juju has been praised in interview by the likes of The Smiths' Johnny Marr, Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Ed'O Brien, plus John Frusciante and Billy Corgan.

Tinderbox (1986) is another classic guitar album including arpeggios of John Carruthers. It is particularly powerful and atmospheric.

Through the Looking Glass (1987) is an album of cover songs. Their version of Kraftwerk's "Hall of Mirrors" has been qualified as "extraordinary" in interview by its composer, Ralf Hutter.

Join Hands (1979) is the second album and last album of SATB Mk1 with John McKay. Morrissey selected the track "Mother" for the intro tape of the 1997 tour. The opening track "Poppy Day" is a powerful evocation of the Great War graveyards.

The second batch of studio album LP vinyl represses are out in September in the US: AmazonCom lists "A Kiss in the Dreamhouse" (1982), "Peepshow" (1988), "Superstition" (1991) and "The Scream" (1978).

A Kiss in the Dreamhouse (1982) is the last album they did with guitarist John McGeoch, it received critical acclaim. The band incorporated strings for the first time on most of the tracks. Bands like The Beta Band and LCD Soundsystem respectively sampled and covered "Painted Bird" and the single "Slowdive".

Peepshow (1988) is the first album they recorded as a quintet and was their most varied record to date, featuring non-traditional rock instruments like cello and accordion: it got a 5 out of 5 star review in Qmagazine and in Spin. It was namechecked by the likes of Arcade Fire's Win Butler, the Decemberists, Block Party and !!! (Chick Chick Chick).

Superstition (1991) is their pop rock album, featuring then 20 year old tabla player Talvin Singh (who would soon be hired by Bjork to be her percussionist on her 1993's Debut). Superstition was hailed by TV on the radio's Dave Siteck

The Scream (1978), is their seminal post-punk debut album, which was praised by Joy Division's Peter Hook as << one of our big influences [...] The Banshees first LP was one of my favourite ever records, the way the guitarist and the drummer played was a really unusual way of playing>>. The album is also a classic revered by The Jesus and Mary Chain, Massive Attack and Morrissey.

I already bought the half-speed remaster gold vinyl edition of Juju released earlier this year. It sounds great.

I plan on getting all the rest since I'm sure they will likewise be an improvement over the Geffen U.S. vinyl copies I have.

This is a nice reminder for me to fill in my collection of Siouxsie and the Banshees material. A great band with a pretty-much fearless vocalist. Post-punk!

And with the 2018 represses, you'll get the original picture labels with the full artwork as intended by the band for each vinyl pressed on Polydor which the Geffen US vinyl don't have, as there was just the logo geffen with the names of the songs, printed at the center of each US vinyl.

What I would really like is the proposed 'Ever After' singles collection with the 7" versions that have never appeared on CD. I think Severin said it was canceled though.

The Superstition vinyl reissue is gonna be a 2xLP: maybe there will be a gatefold sleeve with a picture added in the center like on the recent Depeche Mode vinyl reissues.

Based on the preorder tracklists I've seen, one very minor complaint I have about the Superstition rerelease is that I don't like how the original A & B sides are now broken down differently into three sides. The break I'm used to hearing between "Shadowtime" and "Silly Thing" is now gone. I would have preferred four short sides instead of three sides and (what I'm assuming will be) a blank side D. I'll still get it on the day of release though.

Apparently for this Superstition double Vinyl reissue, there will be a Special Vinyl etching on Side four. [source:recordstore.co.uk]

I might pick up Juju and Tinderbox but Ive been trying not to buy more records. I also didnt know Talvin Singh was on superstition. But I probably didnt know who he was when I first got that album.

Juju and Tinderbox are the two reissues I've heard--highly recommended.
