Good for you that you're looking forward to the show. I won't be wasting one second of my time on that crap. I don't think there is even one person that I'm interested in seeing. neutral

Thank God for DVRs. I record the show and zip thru all the bullshit and hit the performances I like. I'm done in about 35 minutes.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I'm kind of impressed that you can get 35 minutes out of it. I got through the grammys in 10 minutes.

Drake and Cardi B, have 8 nominations each. Camila Cabello may win her first AMA Award for Solo Artist.

I forgot it was on tonight. eek It usually comes on in November, but I guess ABC had some issues getting a whole bunch of artists together for an awards show so close to Thanksgiving that they had to move it back a month. Nevertheless I could barely tell you who's even nominated this year because I have barely listened to any of the most popular artists. I know about Bruno Mars, Camilla Cabello, and Cardi B, but Cardi B does nothing for me. I don't understand the appeal of Migos or most of these mumble rappers, and I only heard about XXXTENTATION because he was shot and killed. Right now the charts are being dominated by hip-hop and EDM artists who hit it big on Spotify,so that leaves me out of the loop. confuse

I was being generous. LOL I do wanna watch Tracie's opening, but I'm skipping any rapper, and Taylor Swift. I may be down to 20 with that alone.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Gladys Knight just sang "Amazing Grace". She is a superb singer.

She is also a Gemini Sun Sign(my favorite sign).

The show was great! Tracee did a great dance number at the start of the show.

Cardi B did a great performance.

My other favorite performance:

Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Ciara.

And the tribute to Aretha by: Donnie, Ledesi, CeCe.

She's dark skinned. That seems to be the criteria now.

Cardi B is a skank ho! I have no idea why anyone would give this chick an award or praise for anything. I'm not a fan or Taylor Swift's music, but this girl has more class in her baby finger than Cardi B has in her entire body.

So yet another worthless edition of the AMAs?

All these non-Grammy music award shows feel so inconsequential now.

Depends how you define "worthless". I like seeing live performances. It's always been the reason I (and most) have watched. I think the Grammys are lesser impact because it's in the industry patting themselves on the back. The AMA's are voted on by the fans with their dollars. It seems to be a tad better gauge as to what the buying public is purchasing or streaming.

Ultimately, I don't care anymore about who wins what. I wanna see a performance.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

That much is true. They just seem so irrelevant; can't recall the last time I heard anyone in person even utter "AMA's". The Grammys aren't anything special either but at least they get people talking.

However, given what people talk about now in terms of music, it's nothing losing sleep over.

Dua Lipa and J.lo gave great performances as well. It was worth the 2 hour 11 minute commitment. Thank you Hulu.
