I do agree that this is a crappy thing to say at this time, but in all honesty, if this was say Ted Nugent, we'd all be running down the halls cheering about his impending death. At least I know I would be.
I hope Aretha does not suffer. What a voice!!

Nooooo. I'm not ready to lose Aretha. She
is such a legend. What a voice. Funny that there are comments basically saying she was a puppet for any politician. Let's not forget Aretha's support for people lie Angela Davis and the black panther movement back in the day at the height of her career. She didn't have to speak out on these things at all as doing so could have damaged her career. This was a woman who was on the cover of magazines like "Time" so her reach was very far from the beginning. Aretha had strong convictions and spoke on them whether popular or not. I love Aretha and am so sad to hear this news. She is one of a kind. Incredible artist and woman. According to Don Lemon on CNN right now, Aretha is in hospice care and heavily on medication. Can mean only one thing: the end is near. Paisley Park is in your heart

Fact is, there are some people that care about this, and some that won't. They have the right to say it, and if your opinion is different, just ignore theirs and state your own and let them state theirs....so what!

Stevie Wonder Visits Aretha Franklin As ‘Queen of Soul’ Rests in Hospice Care
Stevie Wonder just visited Aretha Franklin at her Detroit home to check in on her, her longtime publicist Gwendolyn Quinn confirms exclusively to Us Weekly. Michael Ochs Archives/Getty ImagesCelebrity Health Scares Franklin’s ex-husband Glynn Turman, who was married to the legendary 76-year-old singer from 1978 to 1984, also stopped by her home on Tuesday, August 14, as well as Rev. Jesse Jackson. Contrary to some reports, Franklin was never in a hospital, a source tells Us, and is responding to visitors and breathing on her own. An insider confirmed to Us on Monday, August 13, that the singer was “not doing well,” and that she’s “hanging in there, but recovery is not looking likely.” "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."

It's sad. She's fabulous. I'm glad Stevie Wonder was able to see her. JayZ and Bey dedicated their concert last night to her while they were in Detroit. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that they stopped by to see her too.

VOTE....EARLY | |

Is everyone is supposed to accept a presidential request? Has anyone said no? That's what I want to know.
They say yes because they are politically ignorant...or worse: they know it makes for great PR (amongst the ignorant masses) to be associated with utter murderous filth. Another 'landmark' in their careers.
None will say no.
That's practically all of them. Especially as they age, you'd think some would get a clue and refuse being a political tool for murderous manipulative pigs but the ego-stroking works too well. They all accept the gig. And the very reason they do is that the public never gets riled up about it. The public is mostly asleep about the crimes of their so-called leaders.
The list of entertainment industry traitors is too long to list here, but I keep an eye on all of them. I even respect the work of some of them but it never ceases to amaze me how many willingly accept, embrace and associate with the biggest State Mafia crooks on the planet, with horrifying crimes against humanity under their watch.
Instead they talk like excited schoolchildren about the time they met so-and-so at the White oHuse. Despicable, ignorant sell-outs. Nobody would accept any meeting with one of the more famous mass-murderers in history, but they accept it for murderous US presidents.
As I say, the list is too long to mention here. It's hardly just Aretha. Black & white. Young and old. At some point in their careers all the greats (and.not-so-greats) willingly act as political tools for the filthiest low-lifes on the planet. The public should be riled up about it but are too ignorant to care.
I'd much rather say this while she is alive than dead.

Where is all of his coming from? What an idiotic thing to say. She is a professional singer and has been most of her life, which has been longer than many. Her job is to sing. She does her job and does it well. She is a musical LEGEND and an icon. She is a defining voice of R&B music. You're try to reduce her to a political tool? This level of ignorance is astounding. Off with you, now. Back under the troll bridge you go.

Landmark in her career? That's Aretha Franklin you're talking about, MF! She IS legend. Any politician you name, its a landmark in their career to have Aretha sing at their event. ANY OF THEM. You must be a child. Trying to attribute all of this political nonsense to the mf'ing QUEEN OF SOUL? Nothing you say can undo her legacy. Nothing. You can try but your words fall on deaf ears here. Nobody cares. We get it. You hate a politician that she sang for. You hate everything and everyone around that politician. Fine. Go to the general forums with that. Here, we talk music and celebrate her legacy. And I'd much rather say that while she's alive than dead.
P.S., you're a fool if you believe any American politician has any real power.
