Adele's "21" album...

Okay, so I liked a couple of songs from this album when it came out, but tonight I'm listening to the whole thing and I think this is an example of what I would love to hear from young artists today--good song writing, good production, instrumentation, and a raw great female voice. There are other artists out there like Adele--why can't we have more of this stuff on the pop charts than the crap that dominates now??!! I don't get it. confused And, yes, I have other albums from young artists who will never see the pop charts and have the push behind them that Adele did for this album. But, why the hell not? Why is a great album in this new age such a one off with a load of dreck behind it... razz lol Okay, just call me grandpa

Love her but I also think timing, sound and being from UK helped her cause. She was already big but her sales skyrocketed after Amy Winehouse passed also cause of similar genre but having more of a girl next door image, which contributed to the sales of her album and at the time being closest to her in sound little bit. People on the org notice this but I don't think anyone else had.

Other artists with similar sounds make the radio or indie radio here, but usually have fewer hits and fade away, or end up in commercials or on the touring circuit

21 is a solid record. 25 is even better. There is clear growth in the three albums. They almost feel like a set of albums. (Which, arguably, is faster than anything Maxwell tries to put out as a trilogy.) She said she believes in trilogies, so any further album will not have a number.

21 is her biggest record in the world and in the U.S. barely. I hope she takes a slightly new direction with whatever she puts out next in a few years.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

2 excellent albums from an artist with real talent. Unlike most of the shit out there today, Adele is a true artist.
