New Sade Album In The Works!

Sade Member Says New Album Is Coming

Stuart Matthewman says Sade have “a bunch of songs” in the works

Sade%202.png

Sade’s Stuart Matthewman has revealed in a new interview with Rated R&B that the band have begun working towards a new album. According to Matthewman, Sade Adu and company have already written “a bunch of songs” for the follow-up to Soldier of Love, which was released in 2010. “[Sade’s] not interested in the fame or any of that [other] stuff. She likes to put out art,” Matthewman said. “So when it’s ready, it will come out.”

Sade recently released her first new song in 7 years, “Flower of the Universe.” It was featured on the soundtrack for Ava DuVernay’s reboot of A Wrinkle in Time.

I love Sade. But I don't remember ever listening to an album of theirs from beginning to end. Can people actually do that? razz

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

If memories of lovedeluxe are still relevant, Sade has a very smooth, melancholy sound, which to me is easily played all the way through ( and on repeat ) as long as you are in the mood for it.

Yes, Diamond Life (Sally wasn't my favorite, but not enough to skip it) and

Promise (did not like War of the Hearts but wasn't really worth the energy to get up/stop what I was doing to move the needle to the next track).

Does greatest hits count? If so, The Best of Sade. Since I had this on cd I would skip someone to love and pearls.

I like Sade. I've never thought of her as a great vocalist but I like the coolness, the mood, the places it takes me when I'm listening to her while relaxing having a few beers. Kinda like if Im listening to Basia, Donald Fagen and Muchael Franks. I'm never dissapointed.
