I Wish Jam & Lewis Would Produce The S.O.S. Band Again! They're producing Peabo Bryson whose new CD is about 2 drop in a few weeks and they're workin' with Janet, so why not The S.O.S. Band again too? LOVE Mary Davis' voice and still dream about meeting her and taking a pic with her! She's my all-time fav'rite R&B female vocalist and doesn't even KNOW it. Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

No doubt,it would be interesting but are the S.O.S Band currently signed to a label these days? They haven't done any new music in awhile, have they? It's nice to see that Jam and Lewis are still active, though.

It's odd to hear "It's nice to see that Jam and Lewis are still active, though.". Have they ever not been? Their discography is long and varied and consistent. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Would love that but I got no clue what SOS is up to now. The band had a Kickstarter for a new album a few years ago but sadly, that seems to have gone nowhere since there hasn't been height or hair of the LP since.

They play Peabo's new song "Love Like Yours and Mine" to death on one of our old school stations here in Philly, I had no idea Jam & Lewis produced that, good tune!

Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

They've been touring Europe for the past four years, had a Pledge account to release a new album, but that went nowhere. Their last song was called "Just Get Ready" and it was a "Just Be Good To Me" clone without Jam & Lewis, but sounded remarkably like them. The song itself was not really that impressive and sounded very dated. I think it won some Brit award tho. As always, Mary sounds the same as she ever did, which is AWESOME! <3 Hungry? Absolutely LOVE his new joint! And quite honestly, although the album boasts only 8 songs and a live medley featuring Chante Moore, it's got some pretty good shit up on there! I'm SO ELATED that radio has picked up on it! He's a LOVE legend in my book! <3 Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

My all-time favorite voice in R&B for YEARS!!!! Sumpthin' SO SPECIAL about her tone and delivery. No one even SOUNDS like Mary! I'd luv 2c Jam & Lewis lay some trax down with her! <3 Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

It DOES, but not in a very GOOD way. It's like a cheap clone of it that cops all the stuff Flyte Tyme created way back when. Lyrically, it's not very good either. "Just Be Good To Me" had substance in its lyrics, phunkdaddy. <3 Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

I frequently post on a Facebook page that is focused on old R&B music.Someone posted this song recently. It's a rare, obscure 1976 song by a lady named Mary Davis and yes,it sounds just like the Mary Davis of the SOS Band! Can it be her?

think it's 1976 but it might be from earlier in the 70s.

"Danger! (Playboy At Work)" sounds like a 1960's recording to me. Conclave Records is mentioned in middle to late 1960's issues of Billboard and Jet magazines. And there is an entry of "Danger (Playboy At Work)" in the Library of Congress' catalog of copyrighted music dated August 7, 1969. There are other Mary Davis recordings on YouTube including this one that Discogs has listed as being released in 1967. These all do sound like SOS's Mary Davis. [Edited 8/12/18 10:03am]

OMG! That IS MOMMA Mary up in them records! I would know my favorite female R&B voice for over 35 yrs ANYTIME I hear it! It's also in the way she sings "CAIN'T." Those are both Mary Davis records!!!! Hard 2 believe she's been sangin' all those years! Of course, the BEST Mary vocals are with The S.O.S. Band, more so the Jam & Lewis ballads! LOVE my girl!!!! <3 Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

To my knowledge she recorded 2 albums after leaving the band. One was called Seperate Ways. I think it was her 2nd but I'm not sure if it was her first or second album. But her second album had a lead single called Don't Wear It Out which was produced by the LaFace team of L.A. Reid and Babyface. Surprisingly, it never took off in a major way.
