Radiohead. I really did listen to Ok Computer..fell asleep on it. Listened to it again....got a headache. maybe one day I will like them, however I just couldnt. I really did try. Child I donloaded the whole album since it was supposed to be epic and experimental and all that. Yeah and while it was experimental and all I just could not get into it. Just didnt fit him, even though everyone else loved it...I just dont. I think maybe I dont like Thom Yorke's voice. Just doesnt do anything for me like Drake or Taylor Swifts vocals. They just don't carry me. Prince singing "Creep" though...yes lawd.
The Bends is an incredible post-seventies album (that bass, these guitars), it's praised by critics worldwide for a reason. I don't think you can appreciate OK Computer without getting the Radiohead gimmicks and pop language. Fuck Muse, fuck Coldplay and modern U2, Radiohead's landscapes are the true 21st mix of hope and urban despair, it's more Cobain than Bono, and the ghost of Lennon.
Do your ears a favour. No synths, these are just pedal guitars and effects.
Could not find "Just" in proper quality, but it's one heck of a single, and one heck of a video (but it's almost the norm with Radiohead, fantastic videos).

The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter
No Child's a failure
Until the Blue Sailboat sails him away from his dreams
Don't Ever Lose, Don't Ever Lose
Don't Ever Lose Your Dreams
I can see why Radiohead woulb be considered overrated. It's very white, tortured, anguished, we're light years from Funk.
Still, pick your headphones, this is one of the best singles of its decade, and one of the best videos. This had worldwide cultural and emotional impact.

My overrated vote goes to the cartoon, nonsensical shit from Funkadelic/Parliament. I certainly like older funk than that (JB and Sly) but Pfunk was mostly bollocks to me. Some great musicians, great grooves, but shit songs. Want to like, but just can't. I think I'm normal still.
I know everybody's entitled to there opinion, but in this case a serious WTF?!
But then again I think my overrated list might be a similar WTF to most:
The Beatles
The Beach Boys
Pink Floyd
Nine Inch Nales
Metalicca
Beastie Boys (I only like Paul's Boutique)
Muse
Foo Fighters Coldplay (I only like Viva La Vida and that EP that came with it)
U2 (everything after Joshua Tree sucks) Green Day Pearl Jam
I don't know if there are people who like the bands below, but even 1 fan is too much for shit bands like these:

I've fallen in and out with Radiohead over the years, I think I still prefer their 90's stuff but I think that's because I don't want to engage on them on a higher level, I save that for other musicians I like - I just want to listen to Radiohead the really good rock band. I loved A Moon Shaped Pool though.
I'm the same with Weezer, Green Day and Foo Fighters; as far as i'm concerned they are three great pop rock bands, each with a distinctive style, who all split up in 1999.

As a huge Pink Floyd fan I totally "get" dour music ... and I do appreciate Radiohead. Its just, when I listen to Coldplay I feel elated, when I listen to Radiohead I wanna sit in a closet and have a cry.
Maybe its just my age, maybe its where I am in life currently ... but its just so tiring to be that anti and "down" all the time. As much as I love Floyd, I don't find myself reaching for their albums as much now as I know what sort of mood I'll be in afterwards. Perhaps it was better suited to when I was in my early 20s and more p*ssed off with the world. My current vibe is life-is-too-short ... I thus pick my music accordingly.

I couldn't agree more. This is precisely what I did not get at first with Baltimore. A gentle protest song fights for gentleness. Much hard to love, easier to hate, you know the drill. It's easy to be (just a) punk.
You don't want to get stuck in a permanent adolescent rage or frustration for eons.
With Prince, we have all the colors in music, but mostly it's humour and fun. Who wants to whine for ever?

I struggle with some of The Cure's output, but the Pornography and Disintegration albums are both masterpieces ... just wish the rest of their catalogue was at the same level.
I'm just like everybody else I need love.....and water.

Marroon 5
All boy bands that ever existed
I do love Maroon 5, Backstreet Boys, New Edition, NKOTB, Spice Girls, NSync, Jackson 5. I love teen/kid pop material. Makes me feel good inside. The innocence of it all takes away the angst and pains of adulthood lol.As well, I grew up with their music as they have grown with me so nothing will take away all the memories in school with their music. I only started to get into Maroon 5 in my adult years. "Makes me Wonder" was funky as hell. Although personally Adam levine is annoying, he has a knack for the exact right radio friendly song material with his unique vocals that is quite unmatched by many male artists or bands.
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

they've suffered for the loss of porl (although perry bamonte is fantastic) and boris...boris especially. that new(ish) drummer is the lifeless worst.

Well thought out opinion about Radiohead. I loved "The Bends" too, and OK Computer marked a transion for them. I still love their guitar songs though, especially when intermixed with songs that have no guitar focus, such as on the disc of previously unreleased tracks from OKNOTOK. The contrast effect is powerful.
