I was in Atlanta a few weeks ago and they have an excellent jazz/quiet storm station that I love.This song was getting alot of airplay

So, a few things:

1) I enjoyed M.T. in my youth. "Ray's Rockhouse" and "Blee Blop Blues" were my jams. Vocalese was a favorite album.

2) I don't listen to them as much these days, but I appreciate their artistry. It's not easy to maintain that kind of harmony and consistency for decades.

3) This cover is cute, but it's not as great as the original. I do think it's interesting when a singing group takes a hip-hop/rap/talky type song and actually puts a melody to it and sings it. The Gourds did that with "Gin and Juice". Other groups have done the same. At some point though, it seems rather monotonous with M.T.'s cover. The small lyric changes seem to cheapen it even more.

4) I'll stick to US3's version.
