Aretha cancels more shows due to ill health Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin recently voted America's most popular female singer by You Gov hasn't performed or been seen since November 7, 2017 when she was special guest performer at Elton John's AIDS benefit concert in NYC. At the Grammys Clive Davis broke the news that after speking with Aretha via phone, that Jennifer Hudson had been selected to portray the legendary singer in a biopic about Franklin.

March 25...Newark, NJ cancelled
April 28............New Orleans, LA cancelled
June 2...............Boston, MA cancelled
June 28.............Toronto, Canada cancelled
Reports say her doctors have ordered her not o be on the road for two months. The last pictures at Elton's event, she looked very skinny and frail, smaller than ever. Franklin has been in declining health since 2010 when she felt a sharp pain and was hospitalized and had surgery. In a Wendy Williams interview she said she had a tumor removed.
