Al Green or Tina Turner? I couldn't find the last post, so I decided to bring it back.

. It's gotta go to Mr. Green. I love Tina, but I don't care for her version of it. It's a bit too overproduced for my tastes. I don't want your rhythm without your rhyme

Both are great artists, but I have to go with Al Green. Love him!

Al easily. Tina's is all right but like was said already, it's overproduced.

Al Green. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

Definily Tina Turner, she really changed how I hear this song after I heard her version.

TINA TURNER 100%!!!!! I never even recall hearing Al's version until I heard Tina's. I probably did as I was growing up but never paid much attention to it. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Although I wouldn't use that exact wording , I do agree after "Private Dancer", Tina moved further and further away from R&B with each album. However, I really don't blame her. Tina wanted to go where the money was. Let face it, R&B artists do not sell out stadiums world-wide. Rock audiences are far more loyal than R&B audiences. Prince and Micheal knew they had to build their Pop/Rock fanbase in order to maintain a certain level of ticket sales. If Tina, Micheal and Prince would have stayed 100% R&B, all would have eventually been reduced to playing much smaller venues later in their careers or even worse, becoming a part of those ghastly group tours that so many veteran R&B acts have been forced into. Perhaps one day R&B as a genre will be viewed on the same level as pop and rock, especially the latter. However, present day R&B is in a sunken place, it has to get out of the great rut that it's in first.

I like both versions, but not equally. Gotta go with the Rev.

I think they are both good, but I love the groove of Al Green's recording
