To summarize - it was something I had never seen in a concert before, especially a Beyonce concert. It included...

1. HBCU

2. BGLOs/ Divine Nine

3. Swag Surfin

4. "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing"

5. School Daze

6. Majorette

7. Dance team v. Cheerleaders

Jay Z, Destiny's Child, and Solange

...to name a few.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

From a stage design and the amount of total performers on the stage it was an epic show

However the performance overall was typical Beyoncé screaming screeching going hard crap
The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Remember there is only one destination and that place is U
All of it. Everything. Is U.

I didn't see the screaming at all. But with the HBCU and BGLO influences, I was reminded of the SNL skit, "The day white people realized Beyonce was black". haha

can't wait to see it in person in 6 days biggrin imagine if she has two different shows. the hbcu themed show being the first week, and a completely different show/setlist for the second.

I don’t think she’ll have a different set but something tells me she will

Where is she going to be in 6 days?

I don't think she will do the same thing. They had talked about her rehearsing in 11 hour days for the Coachella thing. It felt like a special performance. Even if she kept the crux of the show, she can't haul 100 marching band members and any other extras she had for consistent future dates. (She could but she probably won't.) And if she kept the bleachers set, it would not make sense with her regular band and not the drumline/orchestra in it. It was a full-on football game thing. Very collegiate throughout.

And let's face it, knowing her, she will change anything after Beychella.

I know they won't do this, but I sure hope they will release this show on DVD or something. It was just so unique and different for her.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I didn't see it nor do I plan to. I am somewhere in the middle between her fanatics and haters. However, for those of you who love to react against all the raves that Bey gets, it is notworthy that she got stellar reviews for her Beychella performance in Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly, with the last one stating that her performance at Coachella was "historic" and perhaps the best performance ever.

Better than Prince's performance of "Forever In My Life" from the "Sign O' The Times" movie?

It wasn't clear if they were saying it was the best Coachella performance ever or of any concert period. I have a difficult time believing her actual performance was better than Prince's Coachella performance, though apparently the overall production was a success as the op noted.
