It is sad. I've always like Huey.

I have always loved Huey Lewis's music. Fore! was their best record. Not a bad song on it. Sports was pretty great, though. I loved "Bad Is Bad". It seems he's searching for answers to his ear problems, and trying to find an answer or solution of some sort.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

This is too bad! Always liked Huey Lewis and the News, great band. They have some great classic hits that I always love to listen to. Another one of my faves of the 80s.

Godspeed to the man. It's a bit of a shame that people to this day look down their nose at Huey Lewis and The News as some untalented novelty act.

He probably blew his own ear drums singing in the shower. Dude has some loud vocal chops.

I caught him a few times live. He still has a loyal, I would say cult following that is a diverse crowd and he still usually fills up where he plays and I remember seeing a lot of families at the shows. Good I caught Huey and the News a few times. Hope he heals.

What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

Oh man, Sports is the one!!! I have a concert DVD from 1984 that already by then is a crazy set list. And of course they had hits and albums after that.

My famiily saw him live sometime in the last five years. I was so jelly!

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I used to dig the hell out of them in college. They had a distinctive sound and style.

They deserve more respect than they've gotten over the years. The News weren't a GOAT band or a spectacle but they were a crew of tight and talented musicians that rose to the top with their own brand of music.

Sports's 9 month climb to #1 in Summer '84 is probably the biggest unsung accomplishment in mainstream music.

In 1984, my favorite artists were Prince, Huey Lewis and the News, and Duran Duran. The only one I still listen to is Prince, but I've got a soft spot for Huey. I wish him well.
