Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Sounds Like Wendy & Lisa Is it me or does this track sound alot like Wendy & Lisa ???
Even the lyrics "were growing in a vicious garden ..."
The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

New UMO! Perhaps reminiscent of W&L in the use of chords? Your post just alerted me to this, and I've got to get tix for the coming tour--I like Ruban Nielsen's styles.

This album was recommended yesterday as part of Paste Magazine's emailer article, "The 15 Albums We're Most Excited About in April". And I was thinking, "Where have I seen that name, Unknown Mortal Orchestra before?" It was here on the org!

Don't forget their 2011, erm, hit (?) "Ffunny Ffrends" that sampled the Pointer Sisters' "Yes We Can-Can" drums.

Nah. I don't hear it. BUT - They had a track on their last album called "Acid Rain" that sounds like it could've been on The Dream Factory. I don't argue with people about my opinions. Scram. I said what I said.

i've only given the new record a very cursory listen, but it's not jumping out to me as much as their last record multi-love, which I think is their real masterpiece. but that's subject to change-- it's hard to match an album that good. if you like funky, interesting, experimental, soulful music check that record out. recommended for fans of d'angelo, ttd, sly, stuff like that.
a friend of mine has played some shows with them before and i remember him saying they were inspired by P on that record, but I could be misremembering, as it was a few years ago. great stuff anyway, they're way too overlooked. here's a cut from that absolutely brilliant record.

OK. I must say that I've not listened to those earlier albums in great detail. My attention begins mainly with their album II.
