That song was a slow burner but I liked that song more than Cry Me A River, and Senorita.

Yes. And the Cry Me a River music video, not song, is entirety what made his debut era successful, given that his debut single had minimal impact (Very blatantly demonstrated by that Barbara Walters interview where he 'promised' to not detail why they broke up.)

If Justin Timberlake never dates Britney Spears he never has a solo career.

JC Chasez was more talented than both (Timberlake wasn't even more talented than any of the Backstreet Boys) and there wasn't any reason for Timberlake to make it big over Chasez.
