Cry Of Love/ Rainbow Bridge Vs First Rays of The New Rising Sun

I recently got copies of the two first Jimi Hendrix Posthumous releases Cry of Love and Rainbow Bridge.

I had never bothered getting them before as the material on them had been available on The First Rays and South Saturn Delta releases in the 1990's.

I always felt South Saturn Delta was just too much and a mish mash for my taste. I like to listen to something that gives me more of an album experience.

First Rays I have always really enjoyed, some of Jimi's best work is on this release and it works well as an album experience.

However i now prefer to listen to Cry Of Love and Rainbow Bridge. I feel those work even better as albums. Partly because the sound quality on the vinyl releases is excellent and also in part because of shorter running times. I think First Rays has too many songs of a similar vein on the one album.

Also Rainbow Bridge has Pali Gap and Hear my Train a coming, two highly essential Jimi Hendrix Songs that deserve to be presented in an album setting.

So how do you prefer to experience the last of Jimi's recordings. Split between two shorter albums or the double experience of First Rays?
