I saw Teena in concert in 1997.She was part of the 'Sinbad Soul Music Fest',on a bill with Larry Graham and Earth Wind & Fire.Like Prince, she was very tiny but wow, what a voice! She was truly an amazing performer.

I ALWAYS wished that she had saved this song for herself. "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."

The first time I saw Teena live was on "The Street Songs Tour" with Rick James in 1981. She blew me away. She had the audience in the palm of her hands. The last time I saw her perform live was when she reunited with Rick in 2004 and brought him with her on tour. Which I thought was so thoughtful of her. It was a sad moment for me remembering back when I first saw them together. Because Rick was a shell of himself. He barely could get through the show. He would die barely a month later. So many wonderful songs but "Yes Indeed" is my favorite. Always brings me to tears. Later on, I would find out it was Teena's favorite. Funny, I didn't care for the song when I was a kid. It took me growing up and actually living the lyrics before I understood it. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Love, love this lady. One of the most talented singers/artist in the music business. She is at the top of my favorite female singers. Sadly, she never received the respect for her talent that she deserved from the mainstream media. [Edited 3/12/18 12:22pm]

. Yes, she was an amazing songwriter and producer! I love how she did her arrangements and how she infused so many instruments into her music; strings, horns, percussion. There is no one else like her!

. That must have been an amazing experience! It's really sad what happened to Rick after he had his stroke; he was never the same again. He was an amazing musician! . She got screwed-over by Motown. She was a strong woman and she stayed true to herself.

She was sooooooo underrated. I love all of her music. 'Starchild' was good, I just listened to Ivory a few weeks ago... and loved it!!! I loved 'La Dona' and 'Sapphire'. She was such a great artist, I miss her terribly. 'Beautiful' was great also. Lady Cab Driver is one of the greatest songs ever!

which is a shame, because she made her best records there.I was happy to see that she and Berry Gordy later patched things up and became good friends.

. Yes, it was and she was living in some apartment outside L.A. And, she was making a lot of money for Motown. She got a shady contract, and I was watching her documentary and it said that back then, Motown only had to pay you (the artist) a minimum of 6K -- that is outrageous!! . Yes, she did very well for herself. Rick James, on the other hand, did not. "With love, honor, and respect for every living thing in the universe, separation ceases, and we all become one being, singing one song." - Prince Roger Nelson (1958-2016)

How does everyone feel about her 1983 album ‘Robbery’? This was her first album on Epic after she left Motown. It didn’t produce any major hit singles, but I think it’s a solid, consistent album....a very underrated album in her catalog.

'Robbery' is my favorite album by Lady Tee under the self titled 'Lady Tee'. She had been gone so long during her fight with Motown. She didn't disappoint on this comeback. My favrite track is 'Shadow Boxing'.
