Were they trying to sound like KISS or is that just the way the guy sings? I think they were/are a KISS tribute band called "Klassik Kiss"

Check out their videos - they never show their faces or give their real names. And the spoof commercials on their YouTube site are pretty cool/campy. I give these guys major kudos for a really good marketing scheme! The songs are pretty good, too.
