Also, as popular as War was(is), I'm still not sure they get the credit that they deserve. In terms of playing funky, soulful music, I'd put War up there with any funk band. Their funk wasn't as pure as some other funk bands, but War had so much feeling...

And @MickyDolenz(the post before Babynoz), excellent choices. Especially the O'Jays and Whodini. I thought of both of those albums, as well. My parents were major O'Jays fans, and So Full Of Love was constantly played on the turntable. And just about every song on that album takes me back to a certain place and time. And Whodini's, Escape? Man, for a couple years that album was the soundtrack to my life. As we all(80's hip hop kids) probably know, a lot of great parties were had when Escape was popped in the cassette deck, or when the needle dropped. In my mind, Escape is one of the greatest hip hop party albums ever.

Prince albums should absolutely be included. If you love Prince so much that you prefer five of his albums more than anyone else's then be honest and post them. And no "one album per artist" nonsense either. Be true to yourself and don't penalize any artist for being great.
