Yes, when I heard it, "Kiss" was the first impression I got from it. It's like Kiss, Part II.

It would take something special to "unlock" my understanding of this particular artist. Usually when that happens, their previous work has more context and is enjoyable.

I do think you might owe it to yourself to at listen open-mindedly listen to the album considering the potential amount of Prince influence and direct input on it.
