you don't say lolllllllllllllll.......

even moreso than The Time...

There's allot of interpolation from Troop's That's My Attitude/My Music back in 88-89 as well as Bobby Brown's jam On Our Own

a mix of the Minny Sound and New Jack Swing and then Troops R&B sound with C. Booker

It's def more New Jack, and a nod to the late 80s and into the 90s that anything 777-related.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Of course, it has a new jack beat. A lot of songs had the same kinda beat.

Bruno dedicated his grammy win to Teddy Riley, Jimmy / Terry and Babyface.

This song Finesse is obviously a nod to them.

Do you know 30 years ago today, Keith Sweat's "I Want Her" was the #1 R&B single?

I love that song and Guy and the whole NJS era. I Want Her is still is awesome thirty years later. cool

Back to the question, I don't hear 777-9311 in the beat. I really like Finesse and I appreciate Bruno bringing back the old sounds of the past, maybe it will encourage some of his fans to go back and listen to more of his influences. The video is a throwback/dedication to In Living Colour. I think it is so cute!

No, I don't hear the Minneapolis sound in this song. I hear mostly New Jack Swing.

This is what Usher and Chris Brown should have been doing instead of tying to be rappers

I don't hate Bruno but I've cooled on him a bit because he's doing the "throwback" thing so much that it's kind of like....I dunno. I really like artists who change it up but I suppose really only Prince was th best at doing that and we'll never have another one who will do it that way either.

Trolls be gone!
