The last album of his that I really liked was Wildcard. I've listened to and been underwhelmed by every album he's put out since. I'd love for him to do more songs like SRR-636.

Anyway I hope the radio station looks at his lyric writing abilities too. Some of the lines he comes up with - "I don't date intelligent women, they're too deep to swim in", "Fat wet lips in a live wire canvas, a Kaleidoscope guise with tangerine eyes" (And yet I have probably fucked these lines up somewhere). Please let them focus on how deep this dude is and yet how he writes such catchy songs. . You knew he was great when his debut opened with a song like "If you all get to heaven" and then after that gospel soul masterpiece goes straight into "If you let me stay". Just wow! some guys have it from the start, even Prince never hit the ground running like that. [Edited 2/7/18 16:02pm] Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Yes, Sananda's not for some of the tastemakers or party-people anymore, but, hey, even Prince downpaced some of his fave contextual output in his later career--"Black Sweat" came and went with few to less such ditties played after that club track was done.
If you want to enjoy post-Wildcard music to the tune of the stripdance-style, you could give "Bella Faccina" a listen. I don't think many more in that style have come out, but there's no telling what's left to discover. I think that S.M. probably incorporated a few unknown older tracks into his Prometheus and Pandora project. To me, "Zebra" is sounding like the Wildcard era--I think it works OK in the context of the new compilation, too.

- Yeah, TTD or Sananda is probably one of the best songwriters we've had in the last 30 plus years. His writing can be just as sublime as his voice. - I think the lyric went: "Fat painted lips on a live wire beauty, a tangerine girl with tamborine eyes. Her face was my favorite magazine, her body was my favorite book to read." - Just. Dope. [Edited 2/9/18 12:18pm]

There have been some hit or miss moments for me as well, but I've enjoyed most of everything he's done.

I enjoyed Sananda's interview following this award--a nice promo to the new album set. I also like the new P&P video out, "Country Changes"--a nice message and a cool rootsy vibe to the tune.
