Delfonics - Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)

Takes you back to that breezy soft heaven of early 70's soul music.

60s and 70s were the best decades for melodies, period. Songwriters back then made immaculate songs that had the timeless x factor.

Slow jam heaven. Co-written and masterfully produced by the immortal Thom Bell.

I am just finding out about Thom Bell. Never knew he wrote so many great hits for such wonderful classic acts. Have gotten a lot into a 60's and 70's classic soul recently and really like a lot of his tunes.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

He is one of my favorite producers. He also produced a couple of great albums by Deniece Williams in the early 80s.

Besides the obvious quality of the songs and the arrangements I am amazed at the sound quality of these recordings. It is truely outstanding, sounding so rich/lush!

yep....”lush” is a word that I always use to describe these songs. This is what’s missing from alot of today’s music.

Yes. For me, the Delfonics vocals stand out(not necessarily saying better, though) probably more so than any male soul group from any period in time.

The Delfonics were just so, smooth...

Those soul groups from the 50's 60's and 70's, were something else.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

Any set you would especially recommend? Nice mastering, or full versions instead of single versions?

They only have 5 albums from their classic Philly Soul period (a few in the 80s) Might as well just get those 5 albums.
2 each as 2 fers and the last one.
