Ok ok, you guys got me. I stand corrected. As for the trick micstand theory I never thought of that. If that's the case then yeah it'd be WAY easier! I'm just more charitable in my old age. I know the performance was missing something, but I didn't flat out hate it like people are pretending. It was bound to happen and we all called it; They've run out of people to perform. After all these "up the ante" years of Superbowl performances it was only a matter of time before this happened. But it's better than what Whoopie Goldberg suggested (A third year of Bruno Mars). Or what those other View clowns suggested (The Despisito guys!).

Will Reeve Jr.Verified account @WillReeveJr I will say this about Justin Timberlake's Super Bowl halftime performance, it unquestionably made me realize just how great of losses we suffered in Prince and Michael Jackson once again. Not even in the same galaxy as those two. Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

Why "make it a black or white issue"? Wow, I don't know what's worse, deliberate venom or willfull ignorance. Do you not recall the 2004 Superbowl? His questionable comments about race? His disrespect towards Prince?!?! Oh that's right, this is the Org where it's okay to deny racism and to diminish Prince's legacy on a routine basis.... Trolls be gone!

I have never been a JT fan until NOW! The comments and blame game that I have read on this forum and elsewhere has turned me into a fan. I have a family member who is a huge Justin fan. All of this negativity toward him has had the opposite effect and turned me into a fan. I’ve never bought anything Justin; however, I will be purchasing this album. Since my family member has been trying for years to get me to attend one of Justin’s concerts, says he is exceptional in concert, I think I will go to a concert this time.

That is totally untrue, because she has enough talent to be relevant even without that family name. You're just some MJ dick rider. [Edited 2/6/18 16:01pm] LOL. OK. Whatever you say...

She's got some really good songs, no doubt, but the "legend" tag is thrown around far too liberally and she's an example of an artist who doesn't deserve it. She is a legend on her own merits and in her own right but when you consider that Beyonce and Rihanna are now being regarded as legends as well, there's no reason to not consider Janet one.

But then again I’m someone who thinks Prince had more talent in his pinky finger than MJ in his whole body so... It was a mutually beneficial relationship. Jam and Lewis helped to propel Janet to super/megastardom with their production talents while Janet's meteoric rise and blistering popularity also raised the stock of Jam and Lewis who became hot commodities in the music world. It wasn't all Janet but it didn't have to be; she contributed plenty to her success. I disagree with your assessment of Prince being so extraordinarily more talented than Michael but I'm not going down that street

Yes Janet's career has benefitted from her family ties etc But you can apply that similar argument to Justin' career as well, working with Timberland and Pharrell, and that he owes his career to Lou Pearlman. [Edited 2/7/18 10:50am] Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

And extending that FURTHER, without Joseph Jackson you'd never hear of any of them. Jesus Christ, it's almost as if some people deliberately misinterpret what others say just so they can "win" the argument. I'll make it easier for you all. You're right, I'm wrong. Janet Jackson is a legend and a bastion of musical genius and is single handedly responsibile for the civil rights movement and women getting the vote.

Yes, if not for the Prince tribute it would have been quite unmemorable indeed. Dirty Jan popping her boobie at the last shindig still hung over him too, in all her irrelevancy she's still trolling him I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world.

I don't mind anyone challenging my opinion. My last post on the matter was intended to be a lighthearted one, hence the exaggerated nature of it. Look, I know Janet Jackson is a big star in America but if you notice that her success outside of America is nowhere near the same level. From an international perspective, she's not on the same scale as other artists who are considered "legends". And when I say legends, I'm not talking about the likes of Beyonce and co. I mean artists like The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson etc. Janet is not at that level. But seeing as this is a thread about Justin Timberlake and his less than stellar Half Time show, I'll stop talking about legendary Jacksons. And their sisters.

StopIt said: No idea who the audience was he was targeting. Or what the N-Sync or whatever choreography features were about. Bizarre to see a middle-aged-dude doing that in that way. Feeling lost. Hopefully, some people loved it and are really excited, just like Prince dorks used to be about his stuff.
Is 37 really considered "middle-aged"?

was there any surprise.....lolll
I didn't even watch it and still aint seen it because I know what's up.....
The Super Bowl hasn't morphed from a sporting event into an entertainment spectacle
what they need to do is scrap this current format of having professional entertainers perform and have local perfomers in the ciy that's hosting the game be signed on, a local high school/college marching band and then have some actual halftime commentary about the first have of the football game
and it's gonna be lame again next year and the year after that
