wes montgomery - a day in the life i was able to recently get a cd version of wes montgomery, a day in the life. he was a tremendous talent, and the disc has some great performances. however, at times, the string arrangements kind of water down what would have been a really great cd, but it doesn't detract too much.
if you're able to check out some of his stuff, i highly rcommend it. . [This message was edited Thu Apr 17 3:11:27 PDT 2003 by medoc2003] ------------------------------------------------

I agree, he was fantastic. My favorite album is So Much Guitar!

the strings get so loud on some of the trax on a day in the life that it is really annoying. his guitar playing is so smooth though.
a day in the life is great i just wish that the strings were not so loud and in your face. wes rocks!

One of the Baddest Guitar Players Ever& I have quite a few of His Albums.but some of the 60's Stuff He had to deal with for Arrangements were about as Funky as the Brady Bunch Theme Song ya Know? I Mean He had to play with some Heavy Cheese behind Him.but His Guitar playing still sizzled. mistermaxxx

I am a guitar player and I still can't believe Wes plays without a pick. I love his laid back style, really different from Grant Green, Kenny Burrell, or George Benson. (The early years) I hope to get some Wes on vinyl, I think those recordings sound and feel so good on wax.
