Grammys 2018: Tina Turner To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Tina Turner has dedicated much of her life to thrilling audiences worldwide, hence’s it’s only fitting that she’s saluted accordingly.

The 2018 Grammys will do exactly that on January 28th, for it’s been announced that the Queen of Rock will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

Per a statement issued moments ago, Turner leads the list of honorees that is also comprised of Queen, Hal Blaine, Neil Diamond, Emmylou Harris, Louis Jordan, and the Meters.

The Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates performers who have made outstanding contributions of artistic significance to the field of recording.

Notable in its timing, news of the honor comes as 78-year-old Turner gears up to share her life-story via a new book and West End theater run in London.

She's long overdue for some further recognition. But I'm mainly talking about her Rock and R&B roots wink

Anyways... I'm more concerned about whether or not John Deacon will show up and accept for QUEEN. (I hope MayLor don't dare take Adam Lambert to the stage when accepting)

They're long overdue for anything... I think this is convenient timing for the film.

Thanks for the post. I was going to start a separate one RE: QUEEN..but eh... not necessary

.

Kelly Clarkson or Beyonce does Proud Mary, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift do We Don't Need Another Hero, Rihanna does Whats Love Got To Do With It. lol Shame she has such good songs and not many artists to perform them well.

.

Tina films a thank you and sends it in. I hope they don't do Tina like they did Diana recently with that "medley" at the AMAs.

If there is an upsideto having Beyonce pay tribute, people can receive insight as to who was a direct influence on her and that she isn't this innovative queen of music.

I'd only want to see this if her seams ripped while shaking it... though she already does so liberally.

I'd like to see em pop out someday.....would be nice lol

According to May and Taylor, Deacon only does behind the scenes things to sign off on Queen related projects. He opted out of the RRHOF in 2001 and even with a movie come ng, I highly doubt we ll ever see him again. Last time he play d with the original line up was in 1997 at an AIDS benefit with Queen/Elton John. My all time favorite band as well, but critics never dug the music.

If Deacon shows up then the world as we know it will come to an end. He didn't show up for the Brit Awards, so he certainly won't show up for the Grammys. Would take time away from him spending the Queen royalties.

Why would Deacon show up I doubt May and TAYLOR will either. They call your name and you stand up and 90%of the audience are like who’s Queen? And then they say oh they wrote the song for Vanilla Ice and Wayne’s World too, no thanks they should stay home keep your award Grammys

All I seen was an annoucement saying she was awarded with the Lifetime award. I did not see anything else about it. Which is a crying shame.

In the USA sorry that is not BS if you take away Bohemian Rhapsody in Wayne’s World and the whole Vanilla Ice incident Queen had nothing to do with the USA from 1981 on when their appeal Here dropped.

I've read elswhere that there's supposed to be a FOLLOW UP awards show regarding the Lifetime Achievement awards...

Dunno if that's bunk or not. I'm not inthat industry n e mo

THIS was on some media website:

Congratulations are in order! Just a few days after Neil Diamond revealed he's sadly battling Parkinson's disease, the singer was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2018 Grammys. Although it wasn't televised tonight, it's been said that there will be a special presentation ceremony and concert honoring all the recipients sometime this summer. We can't wait to watch!
