Extreme - live and 3 sides

Saw them last month.

Gary Cherone has a voice that could lift an angel -

Nuno Bettencourt is criminally underrated what a talent

Pat badger is the same! What a talent!

Don’t even get me started on the insane drums!!

If you get a chance GO!! Literally all the energy of thirty years ago and still feels fresh. For me in top theee gigs I have ever attended easily.

3 sides - what an album! Heard so much from that album too. What a treat!!

What’s the orgs take on these guys?

I’d give a solid 10/10

I haven't listened to them in years but I used to listen to the Pornograffiti album on my Walkman back in the days when I walking to school (Sixth Form) and had long hair and ripped jeans, Get The Funk Out was my favourite of theirs. But funnily enough More Than Words really crossed over on to the charts here in the UK, I remember hearing my mum, who is a big soul and disco fan and really not into rock, singing along to it one day on the radio and saying how nice it was. But this was the big song for me by them.

Love Extreme, saw them 10 years ago. Kind of kicking myself not seeing them in December

They are amazing!! Twice in their career they have gotten the shitty end of the deal i think, ONE is they had a ballad hit, and prior and after and during all their work was hard rock and funk too, this band is not just loud they are funky. Which is why I thought they were always in the QUEEN category, could do it all, but 3SIDES is a gem a fucking masterpiece, but the rock press turned on these guys, turned them into pretty boys with a ballad lumped them in with Winger and Slaughter and things like that, and then GARY poor GARY a great freakin front man gets the shitty end of the Van Halen deal, not just did the fans hate him, but eddie threw him under the bus, and their fans looked at gary as the ballad guy, hmmm Van Halen fans seemed to forget quite a few Van Halen ballads they had hits with.

I'd been planning on going to see them since the gig was posted sometime in November (house of blues Anaheim) only now I've got no car and well all my formerly cool friends have massive old people life troubles of their own.

The others are going to NAMM this upcoming weekend.

Might trek it and rent a hotel if i have to. Don't need a $140 lyft drive.

Since they demolished the Hollywood HOB Extreme probably won't be playing around here unless co headlining with RATT again.

That said...i go to any show with Nuno. He hosts quite a few gigs reach year in Hollywood

Sounds like i'm the same age as you or thereabouts (born in '73). I went to Our Price on the strength of 'GTFO' to buy their album, as I was waiting to be served there was a song playing on the shop's sound system and I remember thinking, 'wow - that's shit'. Got Pornograffiti home, and discovered that the song in the shop was the opening song on the album, 'When I'm President' lol I like Extreme though. Thought they played a belter at the Freddie Mercury tribute.

It's like Mr Big: I know 1 song of them, and that song, while fabulous, isn't at all representative for their ouvre.
Funny thing, i have Pornograffiti since it came out, and totally forgot about that album until the previous post reminded me that's them.
