Ha! I just mentioned him in another post. I once co-produced a concert that featured Youssou and Salif Keita. I grew up on world music by folks like them and Miriam Makeba.

Saw him briefly when Mandela paid a trip to a city near me the other year.Ladysmith Black Mambaza was there too, they and a whole heap of South African musicians were very inspiring.
There's alot of untapped, brilliant talent in S.A. |

Always good to see folks appreciating the genre known as 'world music' (a phrase probably coined when a group of middle-aged men sat around sipping their Grand Caffè Latte's somewhere in Covent Garden).
