Classic Pop Magazines - Yay or Nay I seem to be buying a lot of these lately and at $20 a pop in our money, they are not cheap. But these are British Magazines produced by an outfit called Classic Pop (Sort of Smash hits meets Q and Mojo). . We can't actually get Classic Hits magazine here, but these specials came out. I so far have 4 - Michael Jackson, Madonna, David Bowie and Elton John, all artists I like. I missed out on the Prince one which came out some time ago, like my Uncut, all the magazines are at least 3 months old and up to a year old when they get here (I heard they take all the unsolds from the UK and ship them to here, Australia and a few other Commonwealth places like Malta and South Africa). . The magazines have 4 or 5 chapters dealt with chronologically and cleverly use the font from album covers of the era. The articles are well written of a bit overviewy and gossipy, and then review classic singles and albums of the performers - again some of the opinions are questionable (They say Bitch I'm Madonna is her best song of the 2010s). There is also usually a few pages, on videos, collaborators and influences, duets, unheard of songs etc. Each issue also has 8 or 9 pages of puff on the magazine (Subscribe to it, apps, ads for other specials and back issues) but there is no other advertising - so no gig guide for some hippy metal outfit playing the muddy field in Salisbury rough leamton. . Does anyone else collect these and have an opinion on them, and more importantly does anyone have the Prince one. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name | |

I think for collectors focusing on specific artists, or aftermarket merchants, they're worthwhile. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
