Their later years were certainly more cultured and varied than the early stuff. Although my favorite all-time Beatles song is "Can't Buy Me Love".

Magical Mystery Tour is probably my favorite, has been since I was a kid. I know it's not a "proper Beatles LP" but, it's really good!

Of the early albums I think Hard Day's Night is fantastic. People talk about Rubber Soul being the first time they noticed them working in "albums", where every song was good and there was a lot of variety and careful sequencing, but I think Hard Day's Night has all that, even earlier.

There is some logic in that. And the horns at the beginning of "All You Need Is Love" remind me of the intro horns on "Christopher Tracy's Parade", as well as the intro drums on "Magical Mystery Tour".

There are also some similarities with Parade and St. Pepper's, with the songs blending one to another, etc. I see wehre people go to ATWIAD w/ the Pepper similarities, but frankly Parade feels more like Pepper than ATWIAD in many ways. But we also know ATWIAD & Parade are close sisters. Purple Rain & ATWIAD have the same father, but ATWIAD & Parade have the same mother.

Yeah a "Hard Days Night" is on my top 3 and Magical Mystery tour is great!

The Beatles aka the white album is the best Beatles album ever. A unique beast.

I like Let It Be (the only actual "album" by them I own apart from several compilations ). Two of us somethin somethin, somethin somethin .
