Steve Arrington with a few Prince inspired tracks. What do you guys think? I been goin’ through my Steve Arrington collection and these hit me. While sounding original, you can hear a Prince similarity in a few of his tracks. The song “Like It Loud” is definitely Prince inspired. The whole sound. And I like it too. PRINCE: Always and Forever

"Money On It"...especially the rhythm guitar and drum machine... "Young & Ready"...the synths and the main keyboard melody definitely sound inspired by P even on "What Do You Want From Me?", that popping bassline sounds like a Prince or Brownmark bassline... yeah, the great Steve Arrington was studying P...

LOL...Steve Arrington had such a free spirit in the recording booth...he'd make any kind of sound out his mouth for the sake of funk...grunts, laughs, hiccups, african chants, scatting, rapping, yodelling, even Tarzan's trademark jungle call on "What Do You Want From Me?"...so much rhythm, syncopation and percussion in his singing style...seemed like whatever random vocal stylings that came out his mouth, went on wax....and it was funky as fuck...

The bassline for What Do You Want From Me is Marc Adams inspired if anything. Money On It, the keys I can see but not the drum and guitar. PRINCE: Always and Forever

ultimately, youre right about it being Mark Adams influenced ... the reason i compared it to P and Brownmark is because i saw Brownmark in an interview saying he was heavily influenced by Mark Adams...
