Marvin Gaye's unreleased 1972 album: You're The Man

Everyone talks about Love Man from 1979 but what about this lost album between What's Going On and Let's Get It On? I have read so far that, along with "You're The Man", "Piece Of Clay", "The World Is Rated X", "Where Are We Going", "Woman Of The World" were intended for it.

I did make my own cdr of it years ago. I think all the tracks that were to be used for it have been released as bonus tracks, on bonus discs, etc. It is interesting to think how it would've affected Marvin's career had it been the follow-up to What's Going On.

I'm not so sure "Where Are We Going" and "Woman Of The World" were ever considered for an album. Where did you read that? Whatever the case once "You're The Man" flopped the project died. Pity as I liked where he was going with this.

A couple of interviews with Larry Mizell. I managed to find one again:

"We cut three tracks with Marvin Gaye. They came out actually really good, but there were some political things going on that the album actually got shelved, and Marvin went on to write and produce the soundtrack to the movie 'Trouble Man'."
I believe the other might have been with Red Bull Music Academy.

Those songs are great love them, specially You're The Man. This should have been the follow up to What's Goin On, I think I'm Goin Home should have benn included there, I will go as far as including Trouble Man such a great song wasted on a not so great soundtrack.
