As a west coast DJ who came up during this time, we all looked up to this cat. He along with Dr Dre and the Wrecking Crew, WAS west coast hip hop. Besides making great party jams (killer breaks and beats to mix) he was the baddest dj I EVER SAW! On night I saw this cat lighten the weight on his turn-table arm, flip the cartridge upside down, put a spool of thread on the center of the turn-table and mix Tour De France as it played upside down with the music playing backwards! Oh shit! The crowd went nuts! I miss E. Last I heard he was doing very well in the So Cal real-estate market.
