I love Cher! I used to want to be her when I was younger. She was so glamorous and exotic and I loved her hair, makeup and clothes. I love how outspoken she is too. To be honest, I don't think she has a great voice, but she definitely owns every song she sings. I wish she'd make more movies and better movies than the roles she's chosen.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I remember the Sonny & Cher Show from the 70s, they use to screen it on Foxtel 20 yrs ago along with The Jacksons and Brady Bunch variety shows. Also Cher some great songs too, for example these two classic gems
Half Breed (1973)
And my all-time fav song of hers....Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves (1971)

She was also great in Silkwood (1983), Mask (1985) Suspect (1987) Moonstruck (1987) and one of my all-time fav Halloween films that I watch around this time of year the classic The Witches Of Eastwick (1987) which I highly recommend 5 out of 5 .......it's just a shame that after Mermaids (1990) she wasn't given the opportunity show off that range

Really admired her too growing up and saw her at a promo event

When I was a kid, my friends and I used to have sleep overs and pretend we were either Cher or Tina Turner and try to dress up and create dances miming their songs. It's a lot easier to sing along to Cher songs than Tina Turner! Wish I had gone to see them both when they were touring together! Madonna is probably the most mentioned person when it comes to constantly reinventing oneself with image and music over the years but Cher practically invented it.

When this said THREAD i was assuming it was about the thread running up and down her ass crack most times. Thought maybe a few were being auctioned off. To be honest. I don't know much about her save for some of the tunes...and a few movie credits. She was GREAT in MASK. Her and Sam what's his name. ♫"Trollin, Trolling! We could have fun just trollin'!"♫

She brought autotune into the mainstream. I blame her for today's mess 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740
