Bee Gees -- Staying Alive [a rarely seen earlier video] This is TVD and I dare to say that the director of THIS video was hitting the cocaine lines a bit much!:

music videos in the 70s are funny I wonder why they didn't use clips from the movie

The video for "Night Fever" was very similar...probably the same director. It's also possible that the videos were filmed before any footage of the film was leaked for movie trailer use. I remember (as a little kid) seeing the "How Deep" video and it was a month or two before the movie came out....I guess that's how they kept people in suspense back then.

That brings back some memories! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

lol...Yes I agree with you on that..a MUCH better video! A bit off topic...but when the intro walk and dancing scenes were filmed for "SNF", the Bee Gees music wasn't even ready yet. They played music by Stevie Wonder (and other artists) and later dubbed their music in...I think the only scene where they used the Bee Gees music (while filming) was "You Should Be Dancing" (Travolta's solo dance spot).

One of the songs they used was "Lowdown" by Boz Scaggs. They wanted to keep it in the film and add it to the soundtrack, but for some reason,Boz's manager told them "no".

Alternate vid for this too.

Yup...and Boz said that was one of the biggest regrets in his career. He claims his manager told him that this "little disco film" was going to be a dud.....That 40th anniv. pack looks amazing....may have to grab one for the holidays.

My goodness I remember this video, it gives me vertigo. This is the only time you see Barry Gibbs without a beard; he grew it out in time for the second video. The reason why Barry grew it out again, years of having a beard had pulled his skin and he siad he looked weird. Without the facial hair, you see a strong resemblance to Andy.

Love it. Stayin' Alive - one of the best songs ever recorded.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
