14 hours ago Chuck Mosley, the vocalist for the mid-Eighties run of pioneering alt-metal outliers Faith No More, died Thursday at the age of 57. The singer pioneered what would eventually become rap-rock on the band's first hit, 1987's snarky MTV breakthrough "We Care a Lot." He left the band shortly after and did a stint as the singer of Bad Brains in the early Nineties. After embarking on a solo career, he made a handful of onstage guest appearances in the years since Faith No More's 2009 reunion.
"After a long period of sobriety, Charles Henry Mosley III lost his life, on November 9th, 2017, due to the disease of addiction," Mosley's family wrote in a statement. "We’re sharing the manner in which he passed, in the hopes that it might serve as a warning or wake up call or beacon to anyone else struggling to fight for sobriety. He is survived by long-term partner Pip Logan, two daughters, Erica and Sophie and his grandson Wolfgang Logan Mosley. The family will be accepting donations for funeral expenses." Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

Wow at the news and wow at the statement. Asking for money in the same breath as announcing someone's death.

Well... some people mistakenly believe that being essential, influential, respected etc.... from an era would immediately equate with some financial security. [Edited 11/17/17 9:29am] ♫"Trollin, Trolling! We could have fun just trollin'!"♫

Hey! Thanks for making a sticky for this. Faith No More is my all-time favorite band, and they wouldn't have ever evolved and took such risks if it weren't for Chuck in the early, pre-Patton days of FNM. . With that said, Mike Patton is the de facto frontman of FNM. Their greatest music was created with him on the mic. He could do things and go places musically with them that I dont personally think Chuck could have went to. However, those first 2 albums with Chuck are not only bad-ass, but clearly show the potential of this band and what they would later do in the future. Chuck's personality shines through, and his quirky, eccentric demeanor fit like a glove with FNM's musical stew. I mean, being an eccentric is a MUST if you wanna hang with the players in Faith No More. . It was a real shock to see that he had passed, though. As far as I knew, he had been clean for years and years. He was touring pretty heavily again, and even did a couple gigs with the dudes in FNM sans Patton to celebrate the re-release of We Care A Lot (I seriously recommend you check out the Troubador show). The dude just seemed to be in a really great spot after years of nothing. It just goes to show that drug addiction is absolutely no joke, and that motherfucker will take your life quickly if you let it. I wish I hadn't of passed up the oppurtunities to see him when he hit Philly twice over the past couple years. OF COURSE I SHOULD HAVE WENT, WHAT WAS I THINKING? He was only the og singer of my ride-or-die band after all. God, what an asshole I am for skipping out on that. RIP Chuck, we fucking love you and appreciate you and what you contributed. Tell Anne to tell Vinnie to get away from that fridge...NOW! Get in your mouse, and get out of here!

Hadn't gotten to posting this until almost a month after But i sang this song on karaoke night.....in tribute. ...and the humor and nominees of it was COMPLETELY lost on some guy (about 63 brought his own personal Mic. ..sang like shit).....and his Asian date (about the same age) The guy told me it was a REALLY GOOD SONG..., WHO SINGS IT? I think the support of nypd and lapd helped but i believe the line "we care about diseases baby ....Rock Hudson, Rock. ..yeah! Won him over. Ever have that happen with an "old timer"? I believe he thought it was simply a RAH RAH RAH song ♫"Trollin, Trolling! We could have fun just trollin'!"♫

This is the bit where I admit to not checking out any pre-Patton FNM albums. I have to do that.
