All the songs on the list have huge potential for Me'shell remakes, I can't even with her taking on the Atomic Dog.

She didn't rip him per se, she told her truth based on her experiences. Prince was also sort of a dick sometimes only in that it was his way or no way. He thought everyone should be a Jehovah's Witness. "Now you can cut that how you want, but it's the truth", speaking about stauros. Well, it's his truth, but to him it was fact and everyone should just believe it. Meshell spoke her truth about meeting him and interacting with him. Sinead had a similarly bad experience. Others have too. It's maybe not common, but Prince wasn't perfect. I wish Meshell and him had gotten along, and made some funky ass music together.

Prince was pretty high and mighty about the house nigga comment, considering he knows the ins and outs of a contract, and that she was probably still stuck in one with WB for the time from her days with Maverick. Comfort Woman was her last record for Maverick, in 2003.

Maverick, Madonna's label that Meshell was signed to (as well as people like Alanis Morisette and Michelle Branch) was a subsidiary of WB.

No one can really speak on her misunderstanding something. That calls for the operation of her mind, and no one here is psychic. She's been in the business for a long time. She gets the idea of masters, etc. She ain't new to the game. Most artists get it because they've all signed a contract turning over ownership of their music. We also do not know if he offered her anything helpful, etc. She did say "I don’t know what his life is like; I don’t know what made him the person he is". She also said she tried to approach her interaction with empathy which dictates that she stepped back and washed her hands of any of their interactions.

Either way, her experience is real and valid for her.

Do you really think Michelle was doing good when she was with WB? We know Prince helped a few people get out of their deals with some legal assistance. My guess is helping with legal fees or getting them in touch with people. I am not sure why you would think he would snap a Michelle if she had not turned down his help.

She did make public statements that riduclued him when he signed the licensing deal with WB. She totally did not understand what he was doing with that deal and made a foolish snarky comment. She is free to make as many as she likes but it sure seems weird to be jumping on the bandwagon.

Not to many people outside of the Prince camp do I care to hear do his music. BUT I would love an album of all Prince songs covered by Me'shell.

I love her rendition of Pop Life live
