Tom Petty Tribute: Your Favorite Songs As a tribute to the late great Tom Petty, I was hoping that people could post a few of their favorite Tom Petty songs. I could list plenty, but I'll stick to three in order to leave some for others to mention
Refugee - such a classic. No other song like this ever to hit the Top 40! Free Fallin' - great chorus and play on words.... You Don't Know What It's Like - one of many greats from his wonderful Wildflowers album

other stuff
Here comes my girl (he makes something that's usually great, but sorta taboo become golden like the old school tunes they cut their teeth on)
The Wrong thing to do Scare Easy
from Mudcrutch...

1. Running Down A Dream 2. Don't Do Me Like That 3. Free Falling
I never bought his albums during the height of his career but I fully acknowledge that he was one of the best, I may have liked John Mellencamp more at the time, but Tom is worthy of the success he gained. Jeux Sans Frontiers

i always thought John was Tom's counterpart in bringing some rock credibility and grit to Top 40 radio and bringing some great choruses and melody to rock radio.

She's the one is one of his best works, very ignored and underrated then and even now people forget he even did it. But start to finish one of his best albums

I'm glad someone else thinks so as well! .... I'll still probably never see the movie. ...but what an experience from start to finish. For me that's one of my "desert island discs" ♫"Trollin, Trolling! We could have fun just trollin'!"♫

I remember the "She's the one" soundtrack was a solid album full of good songs, but really have to revisit it.

Some of my favorites: Even the Losers Change of Heart End of the Line (Traveling Wilburys) Runnin' Down a Dream Wildflowers Walls
But really, the only hit he had that I don't care for is "Jammin' Me." He had a great run.

I have bought the Tom Petty Live Anthology 4 cd release since I first made the original post. It was an official release, and it really rocks and reasonably priced. I highly recommend it if anyone was considering to buy something that spanned his career.
