I may. Didn't know this was out so I'll wait a little bit to see feedback from others.

I really wasn't expecting this album, I hadn't heard of it coming out at all and was under the impression that "The Baby Huey Story" was the only Baby Huey album we'd ever get, I'm glad I was wrong. Once I saw it under the new releases sections of my apple music account I knew I had to listen through and add it here.

Baby Huey's "The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend" is easily one of my favorite soul/funk albums out there and an incredibly underrecognized masterpiece so I was pretty excited to hear this. Luckily, if you're a fan of his first album then this record won't disappoint. Just like his first, it's packed from start to finish with some great psych soul and funk cuts, with half being instrumental and half being tracks with vocals.

"I Love You" is a great hard driving funk cut with some great bass and flute playing, along with a killer fuzzed out guitar solo. "Mighty Mighty" is an instrumental that follows the same main riff of both Huey's and Curtis Mayfield's classic older version but gives breaks for some killer psych-funk flute, guitar, and drum work. It's definitely a much different song and is a complete funk jam. "Stay Together" has got some great funk drums that really shine and sound like something you'd think a bunch of emcees had already sampled a hundred times over. "Like a Rolling Stone" is a pretty basic soul and funkdafied cover of Bob Dylan's classic but nothing too memorable. "Our Thing" is a great psych-soul ballad that reminds me of somewhat of Sly and his Family's classic cuts.

Beyond those tracks "Tune X" and "Body House" are two pretty good heavy psych-funk instrumentals that are worth your time if you're a fan of Baby Huey's style of jams but nothing too memorable beyond that, there's nothing here as grand and epic as say "California Dreamin'" from his first album. The other two instrumentals are quite literally just two instrumental versions of two songs already on the album with nothing more to add, but still some good psych-funk if you're looking for it but definitely filler.

"I'll Get Mine" is definitely the standout from this album as well as my favorite track. It's easily the most psychedelic song on the album and an absolutely monumental jam. Starting with a brooding and moody part that the song switches back to a couple times, right after it jumps off into an extremely hard and fuzzed out funk bumper. There's a great guitar solo and around the 2:49 mark the song dives into absolutely psychedelic freak-out territory while Huey talks over the track as is slowly increases it's madness with a free jazz style freak out and haunting laughs in the background. Then they jump back into the main part and end it off with a rising climax of more freakout playing and vocals. Great stuff and ultra psychedelic, I'm not sure when it was recorded but I'm surprised it wasn't included on his first record.

If you're a fan of Baby Huey or soul and funk in general I'd recommend checking this out. Surprisingly great for an archival album of lost recordings.

Favorite Tracks (In Order): "I'll Get Mine", "I Love You", "Stay Together", "Mighty Mighty"

This is only review that I happened to come across. It does sound promising.
