I've had this album since it first got released all the way back in 1990. But this new version has definitely given me a whole new appreciation for George Michael's talent. It's made me realise what a great album it is and what a perfectionist he was. If there was something that he didn't like, he NEVER put it out there. Ever. It may've taken him 3 years to follow up "Faith," but it was all worth it. Although that was usually the standard gap for most artists, we're not talking about Prince here releasing an album a year.

Agreed, but I did qualify it with containing unreleased duets as a point of interest.

See, I think that's the rub. There could be others. But, maybe there is not. Maybe the O'Dowd one is the only other one. I suppose, in general, I'm more anxious to hear unreleased material in general.

To Cinny, it would be nice, but I tell ya - the audio on this CD is just amazing. It's truly like I have never heard it before. Listen with headphones and sink into it. It's beautiful.

I havent seen this discussed much on this thread, but what do you think of the sound quality of the remaster? LWP soubnds crisp and clean, but there is absolutely no bottom on it. It sounds like I'm listening to the album through the AM radio in my grandmother's kitchen. I compare "Freedom '90" with the version on TwentyFive, and it's night and day. The remaster is so thin and empty. MTV Unplugged sounds great, full. Do I have a defective copy or do you all just have better ears?

I think it sounds fine. Mind you, I've only listened to my illegally obtained download as I couldn't wait for the CD to be delivered so I just downloaded it. I still haven't even opened the CD yet. But on the download, the sound is fine. I'd assume that the CD is the same. Maybe you could download it and compare it to the CD just to see if it's your individual CD that's the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion. I bought another copy from a different store and compared. The new copy sounds so much better than my original copy. I guess it was a manufacturing error or something. I dont know how that would happen though. It was weird.

I can sink into a studio version but live stuff I prefer watching, especially during the holidays when I actually have time to watch stuff. My family and I actually watched the George Michael TwentyFive 2xDVD set several Christmases.

I picked up the 2CD set today and are being blown away buy it. I seem to have crept through with greatest hits type releases all this time except for Patience.

Please it only cost $20 in our money ($13.50 USD or £10.50) but the 4CD set nowhere to be seen.

Also picked up the 2CD version of Faith, so now feel I have a bit more validation in my George Michael stakes. You can not deny the majesty of any of these songs. Actually realised there are some chimp noises in Monkey and wondering if MJ loaned Bubbles for the recording!

I don't know how many takes of I Can't Make You Love Me were recorded, but the one on this compilation is the one included on the Older EP, not the one of the whole show broadcasted by MTV at that time (which is my fav take.)

He does it justice though, and I even think it is better than Prince's take on the song. I think this version sounds a lot like the Ladies and Gentleman version on that 1998 set.

George and Prince both do good versions and add their spins on the song, George is more piano and soaring vocals, Prince adds some sexy bedroom chat in it "I offer you sexual relations"
