Björk has announced a new single, “The Gate,” out September 18. It follows the recent news that her new album is “coming soon.”


She details: “the gate is essentially a love song, but i say ‘love’ in a more transcendent way. vulnicura was about a very personal loss, and i think this new album is about a love that’s even greater. it’s about rediscovering love – but in a spiritual way, for lack of a better word.”

See, to me that description applies more to Biophilia than the more straightforward Vulnicura, but maybe I'm being to literal

This thread is whetting my appetite for some Bjork. I haven't heard her last couple of releases. I need to check those out as well as her upcoming one. It is times like these I wish to be a streamer (God that sounds weird ). Touchee Bjork!

i don't know if i'll be able to wait up till midnight since i'm already falling over from sleep
and it's only 21:15 but it will be just as great to wake up to new bjork music tomorrow

Her next album, revealed as Utopia, is due out in November. The dreamy new single, "The Gate", is streaming on Spotify, etc.

i love the new song and the video and i understand the need to repeat
that 'care for me' line so many times, but i do wish she'd changed that up a
little bit. it gets a bit much toward the end.

so this is the transitional piece between vulnicura and utopia eh? it does fit
right in with the end of vulnicura imo, so it'll be very interesting to see what
sort of direction the rest of the album takes.

there'll be flute, and arca. so that's to plusses for me i just hope she has
written some beautiful melodies and the songs are a bit more beat heavy.
