Man, this sing is so amazing. How it only peaked at number 38 on the R&B charts in 1978 is mind boggling.

The lyrics are on point. The arrangements in the hypnotic openning and the vocals, my gawd.

The only time I've heard this song on the radio was a few times on the Quiet Storm program at night. Other than the 1st album with Daddy's Home, I don't think Jermaine had any big hits on the R&B chart until Let's Get Serious. Motown didn't promote him that well. I'm not sure they promoted anybody that heavily except Stevie Wonder & maybe the Commodores & Marvin Gaye. They started a country music label in the 1970s called Melodyland and didn't do anything with it, nor the Rare Earth label with more rock type acts. Gordy was busy trying to make Diana Ross a movie star. It also shows in that most of Jermaine's Motown albums have never made it to CD, not even in Japan. They've put out 2-fer CDs on Eddie Kendricks a few years ago and his albums weren't really big sellers.

Jermaine doesn't have a new album as far as I know, just the song. Tito put out his 1st solo album last year called Tito Time. There was a report a couple of years ago that The Jacksons was going to release a new album, but nothing has come of it so far.

Here's his chart positions on the R&B chart. Before Let's Get Serious, only 1 song hit the Top 10. I didn't say he had no radio play, but they weren't big hits. I did say I've only heard Castle of Sand on Quiet Storm. Maybe it was played in your city, but not where I live.
